I wanted to buy a LCD TV 32inches and my budget is 40,000 what are the best available options in terms of features and which one is the best bet. What is your opinion about the LCD model PHILIPS 32 PFL 3403? What are the ideal features we should look at while buying good LCD TVs? by vneetsharma
Philips-32PFL5203 has high dynamic contrast, good sound output and decent connectivity, but its response time of 8.5 ms is slightly on higher side. For the budget mentioned you have other equally good or better choices in the form of LG-32LG80FR (Full HD) or 32LG80UR, Samsung-LA32A550P1 (Full HD) or LA32A450C1, Panasonic-TX-32LX800, Sharp-LC32A33M and Sony-KLV-32S400A. While buying LCD TV look for features like higher contrast ratio, faster response time (8ms and lower), better connectivity and wider viewing angles. by Ganesh Pawar
Hello there I am a high definition fan and I am thinking of buying the camcorder mentioned above in about April or so. I would just like to know if the VP-HMX20 will be coming to India as the price in UK is about 500 pounds and thats like 35K. The price of the VP-HMX10 is also the same so I think the new model might replace the old one. Is there any chance of something like this happening? I want only a Samsung camcorder. I also was thinking if its worth buying HD camcorder and should a go for a SD one. Please give your advice. Thanks in advance. by harshibeta
There is no news on the launch of VP-HMX20 in India. If you are planning to buy one in April it is worth the wait and as you have also mentioned that you are a high definition fan.
Dear Ganesh, Thanks for your suggestion after which I bought the Samsung 22"lcd TV which I am also using as computer monitor. Just one more query, I am told that watching the TV in 4:3 format or watching the pictures for long durations will damage the LCD? Is it true? Will the channel logos displayed for a long time also damage the LCD. If so what precaution do I take? by kumarajay_ak
The problem you referring is called burn-in which was more evident in earlier plasma TVs, where static images are retained on screen permanently or temporarily. But LCD TVs do not suffer from such issue as they work differently where external light source is used. But still to be on safer side do change channels once a while if you using display to watch CNBC TV18 for stock price ticker or playing games etc. by Ganesh Pawar

The cheapest clamshell handset available in the market is Sony Ericsson-Z555i This 95 grams clamshell mobile phone has a Lithium Ion battery, which allows you a talk time of 540 minutes and standby time of 307 hours. by Vijay Jadhav

I have a 42LG53FR and I want to connect the 5.1 channel speakers with the TV. Which speakers can be connected? by satanicguy86
You can not connect 5.1 channel speaker directly to the TV. Here you will either have to consider 5.1 DVD home theater (DVD player cum amplifier plus 5.14 channel speaker package) or component home theater system (AV receiver plus speaker package) if you already own DVD player. DVD Home theaters are available from brands like Sony, Philips, Samsung and LG, price starts Rs 8,000 and onwards. by Ganesh Pawar
I want to purchase DVD player with in built fm radio, USB port, card reader, could also play mp3, VCD, audio CD and many more formats all other necessary features, budget 7k, please suggest... by amitkumar_jammu
You have choices like Samsung DVD-P480R (USB, FM Tuner, Card Reader - NA) and Onida DFX - 5969 (USB, Card Reader, FM Tuner - NA), which can play all popular AV formats and has decent connectivity. SAMSUNG LA22A450C1 comes with feature of 1 tuner PIP [Picture In Picture] and your site has mentioned that it does not comes with that feature. Please Provide Correct Details about products. by Ganesh Pawar

Hi, I am planning to buy LCD TV of 40" or 42". Considering the cost, I have shortlisted on LG 42LG80FR and Sumsung LA40A550. I am okay with most of the features, but, the next gen model like 70FR or 6 series have 100 hz frame rate. I am not sure how important this while choosing the TV. My 80-90% of usage will be regular broadcast & DVD (movies). Could you please suggest 1) Should I go for next gen 70FR or 6 series..? 2) Should I go for LG or Samsung...? Most of the dealers are pushing for Samsung as against LG even though LG has got more features and technically better product (80FR and 70FR). Please help me decide. Thanks in advance. by CharanMC
Frame rate doubling technology or 100Hz/120Hz motion flow technology is usually available in high end LCD TVs of particular brand like 70FR in LG, 6 Series in Samsung, X Series in Sony etc. This technology improves motion performance so that fast actions appear clearer and sharper, and smoother. LCD TVs with this feature are on expensive side, considering your usage which involves normal TV broadcast and DVD movies you can go for LCD TVs with this feature, will still get satisfactory performance. As you know LG - 42LG80FR is more of value for money choice as it bit bigger, has better on paper contrast ratio, equally good response time, better sound output and connectivity including USB port which is video capable, so it’s a good overall package. So if you want to let go some of utility features of LG Jazz and only concerned with picture performance then Smasung 5 series model is also good choice with ability of displaying images with natural colours and good contrast performance. by Ganesh Pawar
