Hi, I am planning to buy LCD TV of 40" or 42". Considering the cost, I have shortlisted on LG 42LG80FR and Sumsung LA40A550. I am okay with most of the features, but, the next gen model like 70FR or 6 series have 100 hz frame rate. I am not sure how important this while choosing the TV. My 80-90% of usage will be regular broadcast & DVD (movies). Could you please suggest
1) Should I go for next gen 70FR or 6 series..?
2) Should I go for LG or Samsung...? Most of the dealers are pushing for Samsung as against LG even though LG has got more features and technically better product (80FR and 70FR).
Please help me decide. Thanks in advance.

Frame rate doubling technology or 100Hz/120Hz motion flow technology is usually available in high end LCD TVs of particular brand like 70FR in LG, 6 Series in Samsung, X Series in Sony etc. This technology improves motion performance so that fast actions appear clearer and sharper, and smoother. LCD TVs with this feature are on expensive side, considering your usage which involves normal TV broadcast and DVD movies you can go for LCD TVs with this feature, will still get satisfactory performance. As you know LG - 42LG80FR is more of value for money choice as it bit bigger, has better on paper contrast ratio, equally good response time, better sound output and connectivity including USB port which is video capable, so it’s a good overall package. So if you want to let go some of utility features of LG Jazz and only concerned with picture performance then Smasung 5 series model is also good choice with ability of displaying images with natural colours and good contrast performance. by Ganesh Pawar
