Dear Ganesh, Thank you for your reply. Please advice me my viewing distance is around 7-8 ft. Can I go for 32 or 37? If I go for 32 what LCD do you recommend? As you said Full HD or HD Ready is make no difference. Need a latest model with good picture quality and good sound system. I use my TV for watching movies, playing DVD, etc. by venkey30
For the mentioned viewing distance 32 inch LCD TV is good enough for satisfactory viewing and 37 inch for more theatrical experience. For 32 inch LCD TV you have choices like LG-32LG80FR, Samsung-LA32A550P1, Panasonic-TX-32LX800, Sony-KLV-32S400A and Sharp-LC-32A53M. by Ganesh Pawar
Hello Ganesh, I have zeroed in and prioritized on few models of LCD TV in terms of value for money, looks and quality: 1) 32LG60UR (LG) killer looks, ultimate value for money but the problem is, I am going to use it for some personal use which means personal hearing. The TV does not have a head phones socket. Is there a way of putting it to personal hearing mode? 2) LA32A650A1 (SAMSUNG) nominal price but have heard rumors of Samsung degradation of performance in time. 3) KLV-32W400A (Sony) unmatched picture quality, but the price is the constraint. Please help me in making a choice of the above. Is that myth surrounding LCD TVs true, full HD cannot be achieved in 32 inches? by udai_1981
If you are looking for value for money choices then here are some options Samsung-LA32A550P1, Panasonic-TX-32LX800 and Sony-KLV-32S400A having good picture, sound and connectivity features along with headphone output. As for Full HD LCD TV of 32 inch, here the observation is that there is very little or no noticeable difference between picture performance when compared with HD ready TV of similar size, even after achieving or displaying 1080p content. So we would suggest you to take demo of suggested model and choose one which you find more impressive. by Ganesh Pawar

I want to buy Sony-KLV-40X450A. Before making a deal want to confirm Rs 150,000 is it worth buying. I had gone to Sony showroom and was told that company is not giving any discount on X series. by 16032008
As you know Sony always sells its products at premium and has quality products to vindicate their policy. Still when compared with similar products from competing brands, this doubt does arise whether paying such huge amount is worth or not. Here model KLV-40X450A is from its flagship X series having higher contrast ratio, 100/120Hz frame rate doubling technology, host of picture features, better sound performance and plethora of connectivity including 4 HDMIs, USB port and Digital Media Port as well, so its complete package of high-end LCD TV. In terms of performance rest assure it will live upto its expectations, but if price seems too much the for comparison sake take its demo along with Sony-KLV-40X350A (earlier X series model), Samsung-LA40A650A1, LG-42LG70YR and Hitachi-UT42-MX700A as well having similar resolution and picture features.
